Course Description:
This course equips frontline workers with foundational mental health awareness and practical intervention skills for supporting individuals experiencing emotional distress, mental health challenges, or crisis situations within community settings across Canada.
Learners will gain skills in recognizing signs of mental health concerns, responding appropriately during crises, communicating effectively, reducing stigma, and connecting individuals to appropriate supports and community resources.
The course emphasizes compassionate, trauma-informed, and culturally respectful approaches used in shelters, outreach services, supportive housing, disability support, healthcare, and social service environments.
