Course Description:

This course provides frontline workers with practical knowledge and evidence-informed approaches for supporting individuals affected by substance use, addiction, and related health or social challenges in Canada.

Learners will understand harm reduction principles, overdose awareness, stigma reduction, trauma-informed care, and strategies for building safe and respectful support relationships.

The course focuses on compassionate, non-judgmental support practices commonly used in shelters, supportive housing, outreach programs, healthcare environments, and community services.
